The final meeting for the season was Tuesday evening, May 13, 2014. Election of officers was held: Ruth King, President; Deborah Grandy, Vice President; Wendy Braman, Secretary; and Jean Anne Miller, Treasurer. Our 2014-2015 year will begin September 16, 2014. Programs will be arranged in late summer and a new schedule mailed out to members in early September.
Pat Okon brought her collection of string holders which are a product of the 1930s. All had delightful little faces, such as Rosie The Riveter , sailor boy and girl, and several kittens, among others. String holders such as these were household staples during a time when cellophane tape had not yet come into general use. Most parcels were tied up with string that was stored in a holder usually hung on the kitchen wall. Pat's program was the last for the year.
Summer is down time for the Antique Society, but the Board will be busy, off and on, until new programs are ready for the next year.
