FOUNDED 1991
On April 22, 1991, at 7:30p.m., a group of twenty-five antique buffs held a meeting at The Antique Warehouse, 1910 Michigan Avenue, in the City of Saginaw, to discuss forming an antique club to serve the people of Saginaw and Bay City. Thus, the wheels were put in motion for the creation of what would be known as: The Saginaw Valley Antique Society. The first official meeting was held May 14, 1991, when an election of officers took place. Over the summer, Society bylaws were outlined and drafted, then approved by the membership, on September 16, 1991.
The "Purpose" of the Saginaw Valley Antique Society, as stated in Article II of its Bylaws, shall be:
TO PROMOTE THE APPRECIATION AND KNOWLEDGE OF ANTIQUES THROUGH
LECTURES, STUDY MEETINGS, FIELD TRIPS AND/OR OTHER APPROPRIATE MEANS.
